easy 5-ingredient brownie recipe

You know when you get this craving for something sweet, but you just don’t have anything at home? Or what’s there isn’t what you want? Yeah? Me too! That’s why you’re gonna love my easy 5-ingredient brownie recipe:

So one day, to get around the problem of missing sweets at home, I decided to just bake brownies . Should work, right? But there was one problem: Most of the recipes are calculated so end up with a batch of brownies that can feed a whole family… (Not something I usually complain about but a girl has to watch her calorie intake sometimes too! :P)  So I improvised a bit. The result is a delicious 5 ingredient brownie recipe that you can bake with simple ingredients that you usually already have at home – and very quickly! The result is 2-3 delicious brownies, perfect for a sweet snack in between!

I don’t normally use a scale for these brownies, but actually work with a normal cup and a lot of feeling. For those that like to stick to exact measurements, I have added them in brackets. 😉

Easy 5-ingredient Brownie Recipe


⅓ cup cocoa powder (35g)
1 cup sugar (180g)
½ cup flour (60g)
¼ unsalted butter (120g)
2 eggs

2-3 Cupcake forms OR 1 heat resistant cup (it’ll go in the oven!)

For that extra kick (if available):

1 tbsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Chips
Powdered sugar (to decorate)

Preheat the oven to 200° Celsius. Melt the butter. Mix the dry ingredients well. Then add the butter (cooled down) and the eggs. If available, add vanilla extract and chocolate chips as well. Mix everything well.
Pour into the existing molds.
Bake in the middle of the oven for about 20-30 minutes.
Check with a toothpick in between. When it comes out clean, the brownies are ready. Bon appetit!
